This budget is full of good news stories. More than $53 million is being spent on roads and infrastructure – like the upgrade of Withers Road and Samantha Riley Drive, or the $2.5 million being spent on cycleways and footpaths.
There’s $27.9 million budgeted for the acquisition of open space and parkland, $4.3 million for Caddies Creek and $2.7 million on major events that will drive the growth of our visitor economy.
The Hills Shire Council has a methodical approach to capital works and that is how we were turned around from being a financial basket case to one of the most well run local government areas in the state.
