Schofields residents were thrilled when a plan for an overhead power line was overturned to go underground.
Endeavour Energy approved plans to construct a new transmission line to upgrade power supply to the Marsden Park Industrial Precinct within the North West Growth Centre.
The line was originally proposed to run overhead along a section of Grange Avenue; however, it will now run entirely underground.
"We are so happy and grateful for the result we received," resident Miriam Sultana said.
"This will make such a difference in all our lives and I couldn't thank Blacktown Council enough.
"We also give a special thanks to Cr Alan Pendleton and Endeavour Energy for supporting us."
The approval followed valuable residents' feedback on the proposed 6.6-kilometre project to link electricity supply from Schofields Zone Substation at Schofields Road to South Marsden Park Zone Substation at Hollinsworth Road.

General manager network development Ty Christopher said the feedback was one of many factors considered in a robust assessment of project criteria which ultimately achieved the best balance of financial, technical, community and environmental considerations.
"The consultation process was a platform which led to the identification of areas where we could work with stakeholders to deliver the project more efficiently," he said.
"By working with Blacktown Council we identified areas of greater efficiency in relation to the timing and scope of road restoration, which is a significant factor in delivering a project of this nature.
"These efficiencies mean that we are now able to underground the entire route with no additional financial impact on our customers."
He thanked the community for comments and feedback.
"Their input played an important role in the decision-making process."
Marsden Park Industrial Precinct will have an employment capacity of 10,000 jobs.
