Dean Willemsen

Managing Director
Dean founded Clearstate (formerly DNW Property Group) in 2013 after recognising an opening in the property development sector for a highly professional, morally bound and customer focused business.

He has a wealth of experience in founding and growing Prime Build, a highly successful construction business. He still lives and breathes Prime Build’s “nothing is a hassle” mantra, and is widely recognised as an inspirational leader.

Clearstate is a member of DNW Group that was founded in 2016 with a vision to provide executive leadership over the direction of its companies. Dean leads over 100 employees across the Group and is passionate about delighting the customer.
Dean was nominated as the 2015 Ernst & Young entrepreneur of the year and travels widely learning from the best developments around the world.

His drive and passion guides the Clearstate team to innovate and create rewarding places to live for its customers.

Steve Barlow

General Manager

With over 11 years of experience in development, Steve brings with him an impressive and well-rounded skillset within the property development, land subdivision and master planning.

Steve spent the first few years of his development career with Mirvac, followed by almost ten years with Stockland, responsible for delivering Stockland’s NSW portfolio of land subdivisions and working across projects such as ‘Willowdale’ at Leppington and ‘Elara’ at Marsden Park. Steve’s focus is on leading the Clearstate team and running operations of the fast growing business.

Possessing a strong track record in mentoring and an in depth understanding of the property development process, his wealth of knowledge and experience inspires and motivates the team to continue to achieve greatness.

Nicole Dennis

Design and Strategy Manager
Harnessing her 11 years of national and international experience in a variety of master planning, public space design, infrastructure, and strategic planning projects, Nicole brings a wealth of technical urban design, place making and urban planning expertise to the team.

Working as the Design and Strategy Manager she works to ensure holistic and cohesive design outcomes across our multidisciplinary teams of high calibre consultants. With a background as an urban planner and place maker, she sees opportunities to ensure that quality design outcomes are implemented in the delivery of all Clearstate projects ensuring better outcomes for people.

Her current focus is on planning for how Clearstate can adapt to deliver smart communities that deliver community and environmental benefits. She leads the innovation champions with a brief to develop ideas into future opportunities, to connect with our social responsibility partners and to optimize efficiency within project processes and outcomes.

Tim Wrate

Financial Controller
As Financial Controller, Tim plays a pivotal role in creating sound financial direction, corporate and treasury strategy and ensuring risk management is at the forefront of every project decision. He leads the Clearstate finance team in adopting best practice financial systems that operate efficiently and effectively and within accepted guidelines. Working closely with DNW Group’s Capital Partner’s Manager Ben Evans, Tim helps ensure cohesive and innovative funding outcomes for all of Clearstate’s projects
Tim has enjoyed many years working across a breadth of businesses in seven years as an external auditor with a big four accounting firm, and more recently as the Finance Manager for a large construction firm. Tim has a strong accounting and financial control background, underpinned by his CA qualification.

Julian Concato

Senior Capital Transactions Manager
As a Property and Legal professional Julian provides a unique multidisciplinary perspective to the Clearstate team.
During his career Julian has held several roles in public and private corporations as well as Local Government across the various property sectors focusing on acquisitions and development.

As the Senior Capital Transactions Manager Julian leads the Capital Transactions team in locating and acquiring Clearstate’s development sites to ensure the delivery of a continuous pipeline of quality developments in the best locations. Julian enjoys finding opportunities in challenges and delivering result through a strong focus on execution.

Maurice Fitzpatrick

Senior Development Manager
Maurice brings a wealth of technical and project management experience to the Clearstate Team, utilising the skills he has picked up working both within Australia and internationally. Maurice is passionate about providing quality places to live through smart effective design. He is also concerned with providing safe environments for our staff and customers.

As the Senior Development Manager, Maurice manages the Clearstate Development Team. He also maintains a close working relationship with our consultants to ensure that each Clearstate Project is delivered on time and within budget. With a keen focus on risk identification and mitigation strategies, he looks to maintain control and security across all Clearstate Developments. Maurice also looks to provide a unique positive experience for all our stakeholders, from our consultants to our customers.

Ian Belgiorno-Zegna

Development Manager
As Assistant Development Manager, Ian is responsible for ensuring the development process runs as efficiently as possible. He prides himself on his problem solving abilities, attention to detail and his ability to identify any possible risks and opportunities before they materialise. A technical foundation from his Civil Engineering studies combined with the practical knowledge from a Masters in Property Development ensures he is well placed to provide innovative development outcomes.

With previous experience in property management, Ian is passionate about the property industry and strives to deliver quality solutions for all of our customers.

Kamila Sager

Assistant Development Manager
Kamila has over 10 years experience in the development industry primarily working for Stockland as a GIS research analyst, then an assistant development manager. She also brings a wealth of experience from her time working for the Department of Planning and Environment in research and training in GIS systems.

Her analytical and thorough research methods add a unique and considered perspective to the management and development of Clearstate projects.

Assistant Development Manager
Madeleine's interest in development comes from her studies in the urban built environment and a desire to build places with a harmonious balance between sustainability and livability. As the Graduate Development Manager, Madeleine plays an important role in delivering developments that are built sustainably, exhibit quality in design and enhance the value received by our customers. Madeleine's analytical background and a Master of Business Administration, have also given her a strong attention to detail to assist in delivering quality products and services to our customers.

Capital Transactions Coordinator
Inquisitive by nature with a background in analytics and market research, Remsten assists the Capital Transactions Team by running feasibilities on sites and also conducting Due Diligence. With a background in the research and insights industry, Remsten brings a fresh perspective on understanding the market through the lens of an ‘outsider’. His willingness to learn and courage to try new things has seen his fast progression into running his own project feasibilities and acquisitions.

Remsten is passionate about creating better places for tomorrow. He finds the acquisition process rewarding as it is through this dialogue that he deeper understands what tomorrow’s Australia signifies for different individuals and how he, and the business, can deliver more to the customer.

Paul Bonaventura

Office Manager
Paul is the Office Manager at Clearstate. He has several years’ experience in a large engineering corporation in an accounting support role, and more recently in SME’s for the past eleven years developing and implementing administrative systems and processes whilst providing elements of financial management and support. Paul has acquired the necessary skills over time to ensure the efficient and timely running of general administrative functions as creating a fun environment to work in.

Joann Rutherford

Acquisitions Assistant

Joann works in the Capital Transactions team to find and purchase sites that will become the future communities of Australia.

In her previous role in residential property sales, Joann was integral to over 300 property transactions, delighting vendors and purchasers at every step with clear, open communication and intelligent advice. She draws on this experience to understand the goals of landowners, designing sales arrangements with Clearstate that meet their objectives.

Mark Leathan

Marketing and Customers Relations Manager

Mark is a customer and communications specialist with over 20 years’ experience in Blue Chip companies including Stockland, AGL Energy, Caltex, Philips, Sharp and Samsung.

With diverse experience from Property and Energy to Consumer Electronics and Children’s Publishing, Mark has demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to succeed across diverse B2C and B2B markets requiring different marketing strategies that focus on the customer to achieve success.

As the Marketing and Customer Manager, Mark is responsible for ensuring the Clearstate customer experience and brand reputation lead the industry.  He works closely with customers, stakeholders and external partners to promote the brand and uphold its values.
